Prior to being cancelled, the ask for the Pensole International Design Awards was to create a 3D model using BOOST tooling.
I chose to create a version of the Adidas Ultraboost designed specifically for hiking. This also included a re-introduction of HUG lacing (used only once on a shoe in 2004). With the design trends moving towards smart and adaptive fits, this technology can be reworked to compete with the projects other companies are undertaking.
